I am not being diligent about keeping posts current. Maybe the fact our comments indicate that our followers have increased will provide inspiration.
Denise Brennan did a fine job entertaining our small audience at our Cock Tales for Kids. Thank you Jane for her great apron. Ben and Claire did the entire treasure hunt after the story, impressive for four (I think, maybe three for Ben) year olds. The parents managed to keep up too. Denise entertained Christopher with a fun craft project, and his parents with her plain "old" lovable self.
Joe is being true to his breed...stubborn!!! He won't let me clean his feet anymore. I have a few potential helpers I am waiting on. HELP!!!
As always, spread the word about Amberations. It's just here - a great place to visit. We'd love some help with planning, animal care, trails etc. but if all you want to do is come and sit or take a hike - that works too. Just come anytime and make yourself at home. Bring a friend or call first if you need some company or guidance.

On July 11 a group gathered in the Amberations fields to learn about search and rescue dogs. Search and rescue volunteers Eva Briggs and her border collie Boomer, Terry Brown and his Belgian Shepherd Zia, and Cindy Cherry, explained to the group how dogs are trained to use their amazing scenting abilities to locate lost people. It was a very fun and educational time and we really appreciate these folks coming out in the heat to make this great presentation. Next week, July 18th, Denise Brennan is going to entertain us with her special story telling talents. Sunday presentations start at 5 and are followed by a campfire at the barn. We presently have five baby chicks at the barn. Eggs have been hatching every couple of days since the 3rd. There are three more eggs to go. The oldest chick is a dark brown, then came two lighter brown ones and the last two are almost white. At the risk of being politically inappropriate we will reveal that we call the last two the Eskimo babies. They are sooo cute. We left our EZ Up set up overnight after the rescue presentation and the wind devastated it. We have wanted a permanent shelter in our upper fields since day one...this is why. One of our guests on Sunday was wheelchair bound reminding us of our other big wish for the upper fields, wheelchair friendly paths. We mow and lots of volunteers worked very hard on our paths a number of years ago but we really need to upgrade. Someday.

Busy week for me so Joe and friends would really appreciate some visitors. The brown hen is sitting on eggs in the hen house so there should be baby chicks soon. I still don't have the treasure maps in the barn but it's a fun hunt so call if you'd like one. Campfires resume on Sundays July 11th preceded by some fun events. We'd really like to see more visitors so try and make Amberations a part of your de-stressing routine.

Tonight I am starting an Amberations' blog. I would like to provide some daily input on what's going on here. Tristan and I (Gloria/Madre) went to shut the barn doors tonight and discovered visitors - 2 humans. Nothing is more gratifying than to know people are visiting and enjoying this place. This post will be short. Basically I want to see how this looks and if it's going to work. Here goes...
